Eligibility requirements  

  1. Applicants must be a registered nurse, physiotherapist or occupational therapist. 
  2. Applicants must be currently registered with their relevant professional registration board and supply proof with their application.  
  3. Applicants must be able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to continence management and care although they are not required to be currently working solely in this area. 
  4. Applicants are to be a Professional Member of the Continence Foundation of Australia 
  5. Applicants must work in a rural or remote setting as defined by the Australian Standard Geographical Classification – Remoteness Areas (ASGC-RA). Applications will be accepted from applicants working in the categories listed below: 
     
  • RA2 – Inner Regional Australia 
  • RA3 – Outer Regional Australia 
  • RA4 – Remote Australia 
  • RA5 – Very Remote Australia

Application and offer process  

  • Members are not eligible for this scholarship if they receive a National scholarship to NCOI 2024, or if they have previously received a scholarship to an NCOI conference. 
  • Applicants are required to complete the Scholarship Application below, including the three written questions and supporting documentation.  
  • Applications will be assessed by the Queensland STAC members, and scholarships will be awarded based on the content, structure, originality and length of the written answers to the questions in the Application Form below.  The decision of the Committee will be final.

  • Applications are to be received no later than Friday 8th March. 
  • Applicants will be notified of the outcome by phone and/or email on Friday 22nd March.  

 

Conditions of scholarship 

3.1. Value of scholarships 

  • Scholarships to the value of $2000 will be awarded to up to 3 successful applicants to cover the costs of registration, accommodation and travel.  
  • Receipts must be presented for costs to be reimbursed.  
  • Accommodation is for a maximum of 4 consecutive nights and to be utilised within 24 hours either side of NCOI 2024.  
  • Meals and airport transfers are not included in the scholarship and must be covered by the recipient. 
  • Attendance at workshops held on Wednesday 22nd is optional, and successful applicants can claim this expense as part of the total value of the scholarship.  Please note that workshops have limited places. Due to high demand, it is recommended that you register early for any workshops that you wish to attend. (Early Bird registration ends 8th March) 
  • Your registration fee will be reimbursed if you are successful in receiving a scholarship.  

 3.2. Conditions 

The successful applicants will be required to: 

  • Attend NCOI 2024 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on 22nd - 25th May 2024. 
  • Submit a 300 word report/article by Monday 28th June, with details of the session/s that you found most beneficial to your ongoing continence practice. 
  • The report/article may be published in the Foundation’s ITN. 
  • Assemble for certificate presentation and a group photograph with other scholarship recipients at NCOI 2024 (Date and time to be confirmed). 
  • Provide 2 letters of reference, one of which must be within the last 12 months. 
  • Agree to abide by the above conditions for successful applicants.
