Introduction

Most of us are confident that treating bedwetting in younger children will improve the severity and frequency of enuretic episodes. After about 9 years of age, spontaneous resolution is reduced, episodes occur most nights, and success with first‑line therapies drops off. The added changes in adolescence—sleep factors, fatigue, dietary impacts, comorbid issues, and low expectation of cure—mean that treating young people is complex.

The presentation will describe factors contributing to enuresis severity in adolescents and evidence for suggested management strategies. Attendees will appreciate the importance of a multidisciplinary team and multimodal therapy over the longer term.
