Continence Health Australia has zero tolerance in relation to any form of abuse or neglect involving children and vulnerable people. Protection of children and vulnerable people is a shared responsibility between Continence Health Australia and all employees, Board members, committee members, contractors, volunteers and any other personnel representing the organisation.

Continence Health Australia will consider and respect the views of children and vulnerable people and incorporate their opinions in the development of child protection policies.

Continence Health Australia is committed to the cultural safety of children and vulnerable people, in particular honoring the safety and cultural safety of the following groups of children and vulnerable people:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and people from multicultural backgrounds
  • Children and vulnerable people with disability
  • Children and vulnerable people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, asexual or another sexually or gender-diverse identity (LGBTIQA+)
  • Children and vulnerable people in and out of home care and the youth justice system.
