Did you catch Dr Jenny King and Dr Bethia Wilson talk to ABC Breakfast in November about the National Conference on Incontinence? Helping to remove the stigma surrounding incontinence, our patron Dr Bethia Wilson AM talked about her own personal experience with stress incontinence.
Dr Wilson said one of the conference papers she found most interesting was on the prevalence of incontinent problems for netball players. The award-winning paper had been sponsored by the Continence Foundation of Australia.
Dr Jenny King spoke about the ways our organisation can help to relieve continence problems. ‘Aging makes all bladder and bowel problems worse…but there are a lot of people out there we can make a lot better and make them more able to participate in their lives much more fully than they are at the moment,’ she said.
People with bladder or bowel health concerns can freecall the National Continence Helpline on 1800 33 00 66 for a confidential conversation with a continence nurse or visit continence.org.au
