As the Continence Foundation of Australia embarks on a new strategic focus and looks ahead to amplify impact and value for people with lived experience, members, stakeholders and government partners, the decision has been made to close our clinical continence services. This directly affects our paediatric clinic and Commonwealth Home Support Program in NSW and NDIS service which is a service delivered nationally.
In terms of delivering quality clinical services, which many of our members do, we will be focused on improving the breadth, quality and assurance activities across all continence care services and not in the direct provision of these services.
Therefore, effective 11 April 2024, we will be ceasing NDIS services nationally and the CHSP and paediatric service in NSW will cease by 30 June 2024 as per our contract requirements. Due to the closure of our clinical continence services, unfortunately we will not be taking any further bookings for these services.
Please note the National Continence Helpline (1800 33 00 66) will remain fully operational and the paediatric clinic will transition to a workforce capacity building and support model to the NSW paediatric sector. We will continue to deliver on the Health Promotion activities as part of the NGO funding agreement maintaining an ongoing presence and office in NSW.
For those with booked appointments before 11 April 2024
Every effort will be made to keep that appointment time. If we are unable to keep your appointment time, you will be notified shortly. In this scenario, we will work with you to source an alternative service provider and book in a new appointment.
For those on the waiting list
Clients on the waiting list will be contacted about the service closure and every effort will be made to assist them in finding an alternative service provider.
Thank you for your understanding. The Foundation is genuinely committed to supporting the disability and continence services within Australia and be the voice of continence health to advance our vision of an Australian community free of the stigma and restrictions of all aspects of incontinence across the lifespan.
The National Continence Helpline (1800 33 00 66) will also be available for those who need help sourcing a new service provider.
