Areas of expertise as relates to the Continence Foundation of Australia

  • Qualified Continence & Pelvic Health Physiotherapy practitioner, with a well established track record in treating stress incontinence, overactive bladder, urge urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse including fitting pessaries, screening postnatal mums and guiding safe return to exercise, screening post hysterectomy patients, faecal incontinence, post prostatectomy rehab, male pelvic floor, paediatric continence, and LGBTQIA+ patients.
  • Experience in governance of not-for-profit organisations (currently serve on a committee for a community sports club and have experience serving on the committee for a statewide football trainer association) - including reviewing and approving an annual budget, financial statements, and business decisions.
  • Current experience in management of a team of health professionals.
  • Experience as a Director of a small business (Continence Physiotherapy related).
  • Experience with health advocacy, marketing, social media, and community service.
  • Commencing a research project on continence at Curtin University in 2024.
  • Will actively participate as a Board member at all board meetings, be involved in the formulation and execution of strategy, utilising high level of interpersonal skills and sensitivity to individual issues within group decision making.
  • Very willing to serve on sub-committees or task forces.
  • Will proudly represent the Foundation, act as an ambassador for the organisation and publicly support its work and services.

Reasons for nomination

I would love the opportunity to make an impact to help the Continence Foundation of Australia to achieve it's strategic goals.  I would particularly love to promote effective ways to prevent continence issues to all (female, male, children and LGBTQIA+ patients) and ensure evidence-based treatment is promoted and easily accessible across all of Australia.

I am passionate about promoting prevention of continence issues to all (female, male, children and LGBTQIA+) people, and ensuring evidence-based treatment and support is well promoted and easily accessible across all of Australia.
