How your support helps
Behind every story like Mary’s is a moment of support that made all the difference. That moment is made possible by people who choose to help.
Your donation helps fund the National Continence Helpline, a free and confidential service that supported over 15,000 Australians last year. It connects people with experienced nurse continence specialists who offer practical advice, emotional support and a path forward.
Your support also helps us:
- provide free resources to individuals, carers and communities
- train health professionals to better support those affected by incontinence
- advocate for policy change and improved services
- raise awareness to promote early intervention.
Continence Health Australia is the national peak body for incontinence prevention, management, education and advocacy. With your help, we can build a future free from the stigma and limitations of incontinence.

Mary’s story
Mary, a lively and independent woman in her late 60s, had always embraced life with energy and confidence. But recently, things began to change. Everyday tasks like going to the toilet or leaving the house started to feel overwhelming. The fear of an accident and the discomfort of talking about it led her to withdraw from the world around her. She stopped attending social events, avoided outings and felt increasingly alone.
Then Mary discovered the National Continence Helpline. Speaking with a kind and knowledgeable nurse continence specialist was a turning point. She felt heard, understood and supported. The advice she received was practical and reassuring, giving her the tools and confidence to take back control.
Today, Mary is reconnecting with friends, enjoying her hobbies and stepping back into the life she thought she had lost.
