National Conference on IncontinenceAustralia’s premier multidisciplinary meeting for health professionals in bladder, bowel and pelvic health begins this week (20 – 22 Oct and 27 – 29 Oct 2020), hosted by the Continence Foundation of Australia. 

World-class International Keynote Speakers, Carolyn Vandyken and Dr Lynsey Hayward, join over 30 Australian speakers on the program. 

Carolyn Vandyken (Canada) is a physiotherapist, educator, researcher and advocate in the areas of low back pain, pelvic health and pain science. She is presenting on the biopsychosocial approach to overactive bladder syndrome, central sensitisation, and lower urinary tract symptoms.  

Dr Lynsey Hayward (NZ) is a gynaecologist specialising in urogynaecology and the immediate past President of the International Urogynecological Association. She is presenting on mid-urethral sling procedures for stress incontinence, and obesity. 

Program streams include the latest incontinence research and practice in aged care, pelvic pain, childbirth, pelvic health and exercise, and more. 

This year marks the first time the National Conference on Incontinence has been held online.  

“We are excited to host the National Conference on Incontinence online – a first in its 32-year history. The program has been carefully curated by our Scientific Committee, led by Physiotherapist Sue Croft and Urogynaecologist Dr Peta Higgs,” Rowan Cockerell, CEO, said.  

The 2020 Continence Carer of the Year Award recipient will also be announced at the National Conference.
