In the midst of World Continence Week, Jean Hailes for Women’s Health has announced the Continence Foundation of Australia as a Community Partner for Women’s Health Week, 2-6 September 2019.

It’s a natural fit for the Continence Foundation – incontinence is a major women’s health issue. 80 per cent of people who report urinary incontinence are women and 1 in 3 women who have ever had a baby wet themselves.

Jean Hailes has been a strong supporter of the 2019 Laugh Without Leaking campaign and the Continence Foundation is looking forward to working together for Women’s Health Week and beyond.

“We are excited to be partnering with Women’s Health Week to help reach women around Australia with important messages around looking after their health; in particular, their bladder, bowel and pelvic floor health,” said Rowan Cockerell, CEO of the Continence Foundation of Australia.

Women’s Health Week campaign manager Brenda Jones says both organisations share similar messages around prevention and education.

“The saying ‘prevention is better than a cure’ resonates with us,” said Ms Jones. “We want to encourage women and girls to start making those changes that will have long-term positive benefits for their health and wellbeing.

Ambassador of the Continence Foundation and face of the Laugh Without Leaking campaign, Bev Killick, will be bringing her stigma-shattering comedy to the Women’s Health Week Comedy Gala.

The Continence Foundation of Australia will also be announcing the winner of the Laugh Without Leaking competition during Women’s Health Week.

Stay tuned for the exciting plans ahead!
