2018 Carer of the Year

The recipient of the 2018 Carer of the Year Award was Queensland grandmother Susanna Harrison. Susanna is a former nurse who nurtured a young foster child with physical and intellectual disabilities into a happy teenager.

CEO of the Continence Foundation of Australia, Rowan Cockerell, said that the 2018 Award acknowledged the outstanding work of a generous, gentle woman who dedicated her life to caring for others.

“Susanna is the embodiment of an ‘unsung hero’, a woman who has opened her heart and home to provide invaluable quality of life and dignity to others,” said Mrs Cockerell.
