National Public Toilet Map

The National Public Toilet Map is a free website and app that enables people to plan ahead and find more than 25,000 public toilet facilities across Australia.

About the map

Moving confidently through the community is easier when you know where facilities are located. Whether you’re managing a continence condition, travelling, or caring for young children, having access to reliable toilet information helps reduce stress and supports greater independence.

The National Public Toilet Map is a free, easy-to-use website and app that helps you plan ahead and find more than 25,000 public toilet facilities across Australia. It’s designed to support independence, inclusion and peace of mind.

The National Public Toilet Map is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care as part of the National Continence Program.

How the public toilet map can help

What you can do with the toilet map:

  • find nearby toilets with details on:
    • opening hours
    • accessibility
    • parking
    • features such as gender options, change rooms, Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) access, showers, product disposal and more
  • create and share custom maps tailored to your needs and share via URL or QR code – great for carers, community groups or event organisers
  • calculate travel distance to facilities, whether walking or driving
  • add or update facilities to help keep the map accurate.

You can also access our Toilet Help business card – it includes the National Continence Helpline details and a request for help to find a toilet quickly.

The National Public Toilet Map is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing as part of the National Continence Program.

Access to locked toilets (MLAK program)

The Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) is a system that enables 24/7 access to locked public toilets for people with disability or continence needs.

Use the order form on the Master Locksmiths Access Key website for:

  • individuals
  • local councils (for council staff or representatives issuing MLAKs through council offices)
  • service providers (for other approved organisations that issue MLAKs, such as disability service providers, health services, community centres).

For more information about the scheme and who is eligible, visit the Master Locksmiths Access Key website.

“I love that this app is community sourced and updated … I’m loving the additions folks have added for BINS4Blokes and accessible options …”
