Open: Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm AEST. Closed on national public holidays.

About the helpline
The helpline is staffed by nurse continence specialists who are highly qualified and experienced in continence care. They offer personalised advice, practical strategies and access to a wide range of resources to help you take control of your continence health.
Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, a loved one or a patient, the helpline is here to help – with management and treatment advice, and information on local services, products and funding schemes like:
- the Continence Aids Payment Scheme (CAPS)
- the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
- My Aged Care.

To schedule a free, confidential call with a nurse continence specialist, please select one of the following options:
Telephone interpreter service

If you prefer to speak in a language other than English, an interpreter can be arranged from Translating and Interpreting Service free of charge:
1. call our helpline on 1800 33 00 66 and we’ll organise an interpreter for you
or
2. call TIS National on 131 450 and ask them to connect you to the helpline. Visit tisnational.gov.au for information in your language.
We also have resources in languages other than English.
National Relay Service

If you have a hearing impairment or a speech or communication challenge, you can contact the helpline via the National Relay Service (NRS):

What you can ask the helpline
The helpline provides support on a wide range of topics including:
- managing bladder and bowel control issues
- pregnancy, childbirth, menopause and pelvic health for women
- prostate health and male continence concerns
- children’s continence issues like toilet skills and bedwetting
- continence care for people living with other conditions such as diabetes, dementia or Parkinson’s Disease
- funding schemes including CAPS, NDIS and My Aged Care
- advice about continence products.
You can receive advice about:
- ways to help prevent incontinence
- understanding and managing incontinence
- assessment and treatment options
- product recommendations and suppliers, and accessing samples
- local continence services
- free brochures and resources in different languages.

If you need support outside the hours of 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday, contact HealthDirect on 1800 022 222 for free health advice from a registered nurse – available 24/7.
