Pills and Potions in Paediatric Overactive Bladder will explore how pharmacological therapies can complement conservative management in children with bladder overactivity.
Tailored for teams within a broader, multidisciplinary framework, the presentation will address how teams can manage pharmacological intervention, when first-line treatment has been inadequate.
Participants will gain practical insight into commonly used medications, including:
- how these agents work
- how therapy is typically introduced and adjusted over time
- the importance of ongoing monitoring to optimise outcomes.
In addition, the session will address key considerations, equipping clinicians to support children and their families through treatment by:
- recognising adverse effects
- promoting adherence, and
- contributing to informed, collaborative decision-making across the care team.
About the presenter
Dr Susie Gibb is a General and Developmental Paediatrician working at Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Melbourne and in private practice.
She completed her training in Melbourne and Sheffield, UK.
Amongst other roles, she is the Medical Lead of the Complex Care Hub and has worked in the Continence Clinic at RCH since 1999.
