The Continence clearinghouse project seeks to provide a web-based ‘one-stop-shop' that will allow health professionals to access all Australian-based continence information in one place. In addition to increased efficiency for access to resources, it will incorporate functionality to enable health professionals to connect with others involved in continence care and to share information. This project will identify overlap and gaps in resources to inform future resource development.
The CFA is currently coordinating a national initiative titled Healthy Bladder and Bowel Habits in Schools with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing under the National Continence Program . This initiative is seeking to engage teachers, parents, students and school communities to promote healthy bladder and bowel habits in schools, by empowering them through education and knowledge. This is built on the premise that many lifelong attitudes, beliefs and behaviours begin in childhood and that instilling these values at a young age may help avoid issues later in life.
