Continence clearinghouse

What is the 'continence clearinghouse'?

  • A web-based ‘one-stop-shop' that will allow health professionals to access all Australian-based continence information in one place.
  • A way to connect with others involved in continence care and to share information.
  • A joint alliance between key continence stakeholder groups.

Who is it for?

  • The specialist continence workforce, e.g. continence nurse advisors, physiotherapists.
  • The non-specialist continence workforce, e.g. practice nurses, general practitioners.

Why is it being developed?

  • To make it easier for health professionals to access continence-related information.
  • To provide a means to strengthen professional networks and connections.
  • To identify overlap and gaps in resources to inform future resource development.

What might it include?

  • Users and stakeholders are currently being consulted to help guide the design of the continence clearinghouse.
  • It's proposed the continence clearinghouse might include the following:

How will it look?

  • The site will reflect collaboration between different continence organisations.
  • The site will be user-friendly, simple to navigate and organised to help you quickly and easily find what you are looking for.
  • We will be conducting extensive user testing of the site prior to launch to make sure the site meets your needs.

When will it be available?

  • A trial version of the site will be launched at the 20th National Conference on Incontinence (Melbourne, November 2011).
  • The site will be officially launched next year during World Continence Week in June 2012.
